Akron Biomedical Corridor

The Akron BioMedical Corridor, located in downtown Akron and established in 2006, has been instrumental in attracting international biomedical technologies and companies to Akron and northeast Ohio. It brings together three nationally known hospitals (Akron General Medical Center, Akron Children's Hospital and Summa Health System), the unique Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron, the Northeast Ohio Medical University and a world-leading biomaterial center at The University of Akron.

The Akron BioMedical Corridor focuses on orthopedics, wound healing, burns, imaging and advanced functional materials applications and devices.

The Accelerator plays a critical role in the operations of the Akron BioMedical Corridor. We provide entrepreneurial expertise, business development, business planning, networking, access to capital and legal and accounting services to companies looking for help in commercializing their products and expanding into the North American market.
